That is the sound of my joints this morning after my first dance rehearsal from Oz.
OUCH!!! I am so old.
I am so old that my favorite part of the dance is when I leave the stage to get the straw for stuffing the scarecrow.
But then I have to come back.
And dance some more.
And get down on one knee for our big finish.
And smile about it.
And get up quickly afterword.
It hurts me.
Because I'm not young anymore dang it.
You know what really pangs me about all this. Our choreographer just had a baby. Like 3 weeks ago. She dances around the stage like it is nothing. And she was doing that less than a week after her baby was born. Whatever.
So, if you come to see Oz...and I hope you do...please be impressed and pretend like you don't know how much pain this first rehearsal was on this poor old woman.

When do tickets go on sale? I wouldn't miss this for the world... Oz included!
i am sad that I can't be there, but here is what I would say (with complete sincerity)...
"Jacki! you were amazing! I can't believe how fluid like you move! I am so beyond impressed... really! And their Elphaba, er, I mean Wicked Witch paled in comparison to the stunning performance you have given! They clearly made the wrong choice. By the way, I have been meaning to ask you, do you do gymnastics? The way you bounced up, off your knees, as though you were weightless and springy was quite something. The whole crowd admired it!"
:)
My performance is dedicated to Misty Wagner for her support.
Everything in my performance is for her.
Here's to you!!! You are an amazing woman and so much more brave then me. Kudos to you, way to go girl!
